About SMILE

Founded in November 2003, SMILE is a non-profit voluntary organisation dedicated towards the improvement of the less privileged. It is an organization comprised of the diligent people with a set of values and a passion to develop the lives of people in strained circumstances. With cohesive planning and novel ideas, the process is followed through by the improvement in health, hygiene, leadership, and education. All this falls under the umbrella of empowerment through integrated projects undertaken at SMILE, revolving around counselling, life-skill education, literacy, learning, and creativity.

To harness the underlying potential of the less fortunate and instill in them a sense of independence and trust while they shift into valuable citizens of tomorrow with a better quality of life.

MISSION

To create an environment that safeguards the life, dreams and aspirations of individuals going through unfavourable chain of circumstances. To ignite a spark for better change.

OBJECTIVES

The specific focus of SMILE is the destitute and other vulnerable children and women.

  1. To provide integrated support to destitute children and women.
  2. To conduct research on different life aspects and circumstances of underprivileged children and women to help in formulation of better programs to meet their needs.
  3. To carry out advocacy work related to children and women.
  4. To generate awareness regarding rights of children and women.
  5. To mobilize community resources to help the disadvantaged sections of society.
  6. To organize underprivileged children and women and network their groups so that they can articulate their concerns and needs to the policy-makers.
